GlobeWest furniture often pops up in my specifications for clients, partly because of the enormous range they have suiting so many different projects and styles but also because there is a simple satisfaction knowing that my recommendation will be beautiful quality and a design that suits the lifestyle of my clients. Knowing I won’t be dealing with poor quality complaints or manufacturing faults, really does help me sleep at night and is often a rarity for other mass produced furniture brands on the market. Choose well, buy less they say and I couldn’t agree more.
Each year GlobeWest release their annual collection - a selection of new furniture that reflect our modern lifestyles. They have just recently released their 2019 collection and oh-my-golly are there some beautiful pieces in the mix. Twenty Five new furniture and homeware collections, inspired by - as they say - ‘uniquely Australian living’.
In the mix are seven new outdoor collections including my personal favourite - the Haven. This series features low seating in light, natural finishes which works perfectly for the casual coastal style my clients so often request.
The modular options also ensure it works in a number of spaces and it’s sunproof upholstery and soft quick dry foam cushions, make for a worry free outdoor option - winning. It looks pretty glam and inviting in a very down to earth, laid back kinda way, don’t you think?
Featured here with the GlobeWest Granada Outdoor Woven Rug and the Haven Square Coffee Table.
Another stand out for me is the ‘Retreat’ collection - one of six Design Directions underpinning the development of the 2019 GlobeWest collections. These directions have been the result of ongoing research into colour, form, texture and materials.
To me, the ‘Retreat’ collection captures the intersection between Coast and Country - the exact same intersection that makes my interior heart beat wildly, which would come as no surprise to those who’ve been following Minted Interiors and my work for a while.
And that is exactly why this dining setting is on order for my house. These chairs come in white, black and natural. It was a tough choice because I adore each of the colours and think they could work in a variety of different (very beautiful!) interiors but given our jarrah floors and natural side board, white was the winning colour for us. Stay tuned for insitu at-home imagery from our place, when this collection drops in 2019.
Now you all know that I find it hard to go past the GlobeWest Vittoria Iris sofa for style, comfort, versatility and family friendly practicality with it’s many configurations and removable, washable covers, so here’s a couple of little pics of how good it looks in our humble little home, even with three children slouching around on it -
Having said that - my sofa pick from the new 2019 GobeWest collection is the Sketch Sloopy Sofa. It comes in this lovely inky blue as well as a gorgeous soft grey linen fabric. It’s phenomenal comfort makes it a stand out and it’s relaxed laid back style with removable covers not only fits the coastal-country-casual vibe that my clients (and I!) seem to lust after, it also offers some family friendly practicality points, which has sealed it’s place on my list.
They’ve also added new colours to some favourite pieces from previous years collections. The Natural version of the Anja Woven Coffee Table will be finding a home in our place very soon and with black interior pops (including kitchen cabinetry) very much in vogue, I know the new black version will be making an appearance in some future Minted Interiors design concepts very shortly.
More than a few homeware pieces in the new GlobeWest collection also strike relaxed coastal vibes, bringing earthy comfort and homeliness to retreat like spaces. Creating comfort and a haven from the fast paced digitally driven world in your own home is what current day interiors are all about and these soft and textural textiles can go a long way in achieving some inviting, laze about comfort at your place.
And finally, much to my casual beach side loving heart’s delight, they have also released some gorgeous rattan bedheads and lights, to make any resort like interior ooze a summer style. To me, these natural materials also work so well in contemporary-modern and contemporary-country interiors, adding a refined earthiness that’s hard to achieve wth other selections.
And just in case the natural tones don’t get you excited, they’ve also released some black options for maximum impact. How gorgeously glam is this Avery Diamond Arch rattan bedhead - STUNNING, if you ask me.
If rattan is a little too casual for you and you’re after something more glam, then the new Kennedy Block Bedhead may be the perfect piece for you. You know I’m quite impartial to some beautiful Velvet and this design is luscious and soft with plenty of velvety loveliness, which will add a high end, tactile comfort to any bedroom. It also comes in two beautiful colours Dusty Teal and Lilac, making it a versatile option for adult and children’s bedrooms alike.
And I think that soft velvety finish is the perfect place to end this blog post. If you’re interested in seeing some beautiful video footage of some of these pieces, you can view the 2019 video campaign here.
